Book Deal of the Day

Oh, it’s signing time again, you’re gonna join me …

Ray Charles

With apologies to Ray Charles, it’s book signing time again for yours truly, this time in Delray Beach. This time?

It’ll be my second time in four days at the Delray Public Library, where I again will tout my novel MURDER IN PALM BEACH: The Homicide That Never Died. On Thursday, Jan. 7, it was just me. On Sunday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m., I will be one of 12 authors. We’ll speak for a few minutes, and then audience members will meet each of us individually to ask questions and chat about the weather or whatever else is on their minds.

Six of the books discussed will be nonfiction, four fiction, one poetry, and one memoir. Although mine is fiction, it’s a little different – a roman à clef. That’s one of those weird-sounding French words, the last part of which is pronounced almost like “clay.” Go figure. It means a novel based on real persons and places in disguise.

And yeah, MURDER IN PALM BEACH: The Homicide That Never Died certainly fits in that category. It’s based on a 1976 murder that made headlines for 15 years. And it contains, in the guise of fiction, explosive information never before made public.

So come on down to the library and enjoy yourselves. Be sure to stop at my table, where everyone gets a kiss. And I do mean everyone. My kiss even has a name: Hershey’s. If perchance you want to buy a signed copy of the book, I’ll give you a deal: $15, knocked down from $18.95. With free shipping, from my hands to yours.

The fun starts at 2 p.m., and the library is at 200 W. Atlantic Ave. From I-95, go east on Atlantic to just before Swinton Avenue. It’s on the south (right) side, just past the South County Courthouse. Parking is in the back.

See y’all there.
